I’ve been learning forex for about 2 months, at the moment I’m practising trading pullbacks with Fibonacci and candle stick patterns, this set up shows a pullback to the 50% retracement level with lines up with previous resistance now acting as support.

Am I barking up the wrong tree again?

Long story short, I've been learning forex for the past 6 years on and off, searching for the holy grail of indicator combinations and only just realised they don't work. Mostly because of a youtube video I stumbled on by accident.
So is this a method of trading with higher probability of success?
Only focusing on 2 pairs I like for now....
I go to the D1 charts and plot lines around areas where price has reversed in the long run repeatedly back in time. Then I draw some boxes around these lines as areas of interest. Then as price reaches those boxes I scan down the timeframes to the H1 charts to see if price is slowing in momentum. If it is, I'll check a M15 chart to see if price is about to reverse or continue using candle stick patterns and wait for a retest of the area before taking a trade accordingly with a 1:3 RR minimum, trailing SL behind swings high or low.
Here's an example of my D1 chart - https://www.tradingview.com/x/Ei8jT88G
Would anyone be willing to be a mentor to me? I'm determined to get this right this time.

How to Utilize Screeners

Hi guys, first post here. Been learning forex for a couple weeks now and just getting into demo trading. Wondering what the best way to utilize screeners would be (for example: https://www.tradingview.com/forex-screene). If a pair shows as a "strong buy" or a "strong sell" would that pan out over the course of an hour? A day? Just wondering how to properly utilize that tool. Thanks!

How does one come up with a strategy?

Hi guys, I've been learning forex for about a year now. Demo traded, went well. Traded with real, went very well, but then Trump's tweets came, the whole acandal where thos big banks were caught manipulating markets and and and well my account went to shit. Luckily not much and money I considered not mine when I put it in the account.
With that aside, how does one come up with a strategy? Do you stare at charts, looking for patterns, playing with indicators and backtesting, till you find something that can maybe work? Cause thats what I've been trying and failing at🤣 And I don't even dare to google strategies. No thanks Mr Nigeria prins, I'll keep my liver.😂
Hope this isn't too much of a shitpost. Keep well.

Why looking at multi time frames is important

this is basically to show how you shouldn't only focus on one time frame(doesn't mean you should focus on all,but 1time frame higher than the one you're trading on will suffice)
so in this example https://www.tradingview.com/x/Mn5fxz4M/
we can see AUDNZD is in a downtrend,it broke previous support, and now was coming back to retest the horizontal level, which is also a fib level, and a trend line, hell it was even showing a clear divergence,it literally had so many confluences and even rejected the zone completly
it would have been a good trade, but on the daily time frame https://www.tradingview.com/x/P7gcpuAW/
we can see it was a break and retest with a few confluences and the probabilty of it going upwards was a bit higher than it going lower, this is why looking at the daily time frame you could have avoided taking the trade and prevented your loss, this doesn't mean that you should not take a short position on the m5 because daily is in an uptrend, this is mainly to show how different time frames show different things and how normally price tends to follow the higher time frame
ps im a newbie who's been learning forex for a month or a bit more so take what i say with a grain of salt, and if anyone wants to provide any extra inputs or their own input, please feel free to do so

How many pairs?

Im learning forex for about 1 year , first i started learning price action with my demo account then when i felt more comfortable i started my real account and i heavily focused only on XAU/USD and the result was really good actually.
But lately I'm feeling that I'm losing lots of opportunities on other pairs and i kinda want to focus on other pairs as well .
Let me know what you guys think , how many pair do you focus on? And what pairs? Thank you all

Newbie here. How reliable is the moving average?

I have just been learning Forex for like 3 days and I find that the moving average is pretty accurate in identifying trends in the market. Do you use it frequently and how reliable is it? What are the possible drawbacks of using moving averages to predict trends?

Naked Forex, anyone?

So I’ve been learning forex for a couple months now and playing around on my demo account with quite a bit of success. The technical route definitely seems to work best for me. I’ve read a couple books on naked trading, focusing on price action candlesticks without indicators, and I’m positive this is the route I will continue with once I go live by the end of summer.
I don’t know many people who do forex, so I was just curious if anyone has any tips to offer or even more books that I can look into. Any advice helps!

Been messing around with options and forex for a while now, made some profits but never made any significant amount of money from it. Heard about futures and was wondering if the futures market is better and where could I find some good info to learn more about getting started?

I used to trade only FOREX. I have since diversified into cryptocurrency for a less stressful approach. Anyone here interested in learning how to trade cryptocurrency and what steps you need to take?

As the title says, I used to only trade on FOREX. I have since diversified into cryptocurrency because FOREX was so stressful for me and I needed to have something that was a bit less news-job-report intensive to level it all out. You can't get away from charts and candles in crypto, but I feel like there are more long-term hold opportunities in the crypto space and I feel like longer-term investments are less stressful for me. I know this isn't 100% FOREX related, but since I do trade on FOREX, I feel like it has relevance in terms of the ways the spaces are similar.
First, the reasons I diversified. The main one that frustrates me is I feel like the cards are stacked against me in ways I have no control over. Exchanges can sell information about customer buy and sell points to bigger fish than me. The whales have way more information about what the public is doing than I do. Next, trading firms have access to news much faster than me. They can process announcements in microseconds. And lastly, countries do crazy things with their currencies and I just wasn't great at interpreting all the signs. I don't like my fortunes being tied to job reports and the decisions of a treasury secretary that doesn't take any input from me.
The above reasons pushed me to start trading longer term in FOREX. That's fine, there are plenty of long-term strategies that work. Most people will tell you that longer-term is safer, and so the shift didn't bug me that much. But over time, I felt like there were more currencies I was missing out on, so I started adding cryptocurrency into my portfolio.
For those of you that don't know much about cryptocurrency, it's basically a currency that is not controlled by any one person or government (or shouldn't be). It's money free from political corruption, free from bailouts, and free from big banks. It is also highly more volatile than FOREX. Gains and losses are measured in the 10% or 20% range per day. There's actually lots of money to be made day trading it, just like FOREX. But I chose to take a longer term approach for my peace of mind.
One of the things that I looked for when trading FOREX was to trade pairs where I could earn interest while holding it. Then when the pair appreciated, I could sell it for a gain plus the interest. Win win.
Right now, I feel like I found that in ADA (Cardano) crypto. ADA just opened staking (mining) capability last week, meaning that just by holding it you can earn 4.5%-5.5% on your coins (paid in coins, not in dollars). It's the most undervalued crypto in the market (in my opinion), and the fundamentals on it look really strong. It is doing everything I was hoping a FOREX pair would do and I think it's the best crypto investment right now, so I'm just filing it away as a 5-year investment. It's now 50% of my "overall" currency investments, including FOREX.
Anyway, that's my story. I wanted to share it in case anyone here was curious about Cardano in particular, and how it related to fiat currencies. I was super intimidated about crypto at first, but I am also a software developer with a lot of experience, and so I was able to make the transition quite well. I even started my own mining pool to earn more.
